In the production of beer, wine, fruit and vegetable juices, separators and decanters are not only essential, they also set new standards in terms of quality, yield and efficiency. Westfalia Separator Food Tec has also carried out consistent research and development work in this field and has created innovative process techniques. Beer production Westfalia Separator Food Tec has taken a further step in the field of brewing beer. Whereas separators and decanters have been used for a long time in the production of beer, the Westfalia Separator PROFI® process represents a further milestone in filtration technology: the centrifuge and membrane are combined and the expensive and relatively labour intensive kieselguhr treatment is no longer necessary. The entire filtration process flows continuously, with maximum yield and a simple method of changing types. Beers filtered with Westfalia Separator PROFI® are premium products, the environment is protected and process costs are reduced. Wine production Centrifugal separating technology has been used for a long time in the production of wine. However, a new era in wine production has commenced with the VINEX® method developed by Westfalia Separator Food Tec. The disadvantages of wine presses used in the past, such as long mashing times and poor yields, are avoided by Westfalia Separator VINEX®. The use of decanters now allows continuous juicing of the grapes combined with consistent quality. This guarantees a gentler, quicker and more effective production flow. Fruit juice production Westfalia Separator Food Tec has also introduced innovations in the production of fruit and vegetable juices. The patented Westfalia Separator FRUPEX method allows separators and decanters to be used for the first time in a complete processing line. The advantages of this method compared with the conventional pressing method are obvious: gentler treatment of the raw material, a significant increase in yield and a constantly high juice quality. The Westfalia Separator FRUPEX method is suitable for virtually all fruit and vegetable types and even small batches can be processed quickly and without any problems. Potential applications are the production and recovery of:
